We hope you have enjoyed the Christmas festivities and are on your way to a happier new year. A fresh decade is upon us and with it brings opportunities to be and do better, for us and for our communities. We invite you to join us on our Magical Mushroom ride as we explore the Power of Mushrooms.

This upcoming year we have a number of events held at various venues in the city showcasing different focuses on what we do. Our goal is to educate, as well as, have a good time with good food and conversation. Many good things are coming our way and we cannot wait to share it with you and your loved ones.

January we Proclaim as the Month of Vitamin D! 
”When we think of Vitamin D, we think of Mushrooms.”

Did you know that the only item in your produce aisle with natural Vitamin D was #Mushrooms? Yup, I meet people every week never knowing that fact. Additionally, on a sunny day, if you expose your fresh Mushrooms to the sun it will increase its Vitamin D power. 
How cool is that!

Doctors prescribe at least 20 minutes of sunshine per day with your face and arms exposed to the sun, but if you’re unable to for whatever reason, choose the natural Vitamin D boost by integrating #Mushrooms into your favourite daily meals. 

Wild Mushrooms have more Vitamin D than most cultivated #Mushrooms. Hen of the Woods and Chicken of the Woods have the highest amount of Vitamin D, with some calculations as high as 280% per 100 grams of serving.

Maitake, means “Dancing Mushroom” in Japanese, is also known as Hen of the Woods in the Wild or Grifola frondosa. Cultivated Maitake in Asian and North American markets utilize the name “Maitake”.
